| 2007 Volunteer Opportunities for the Programs Committee With the expansion of Programs to the West End, there are a number of volunteer opportunities for both West End and Southside as PMI Central Virginia Chapter looks to offer twice the number of annual dinner meetings per year. If you are looking to expand your network, exercise leadership and presentation skills in new ways, or be part of a rapidly expanding professional chapter, please contact Sally Deering at vp.programs@pmicvc.org if you are interested in any of these roles for 2007. West End Site Director (1) - Coordinate any items with hotel or venue where chapter meetings are held, including counts & appropriate table set up for each chapter meeting, space accommodations, meal types, annual contracts, and special needs. Ensure technology set up occurs for events. 2 hours per month (10 months) Southside Site Director (1) - Coordinate any items with hotel or venue where chapter meetings are held, including counts & appropriate table setup for each chapter meeting, space accommodations, meal types, annual contracts and special needs. 2 hours per month (8 months) Southside Programs Director (1) - Ensure volunteers are available and signed up for each chapter meeting and all pre-meeting preparation is completed including copies of flyers, name badges and registration forms, and announcement, marketing and speaker slides all be available on a laptop. 6-8 hours week of event (8 events) Southside Finance Director (1) - Manage Southside Programs Budget, reporting update to VP, Programs. Ensure event monies and expense reports get to VP, Finance post-events. 1-2 hours per month Speaker Hosts (multiple) - Host a speaker for a given chapter meeting - Ensure the Programs and Site Directors are aware of any special needs, that speaker has hotel accommodations if needed & has Speaker Welcome Kit; coordinate introduction of speaker at the chapter meeting, obtain and present speaker thank you gift. ½ hour prior to event, 3 hours during event Southside Registration Desk Coordinators (2-6) - Perform Registration Desk Duties including ensuring people are signed in properly, receive a name badge, and pay if they have not already paid for attendance. Provide registration summary and monies collected to VP, Finance or Finance Director at end of event. 2 volunteers needed per chapter meeting. 1-1.5 hours at start of event; ½ hour at end of event. Volunteering with the chapter is very rewarding and we really need your help to continue to offer high-quality chapter dinner meetings to our membership. We look forward to hearing from you.
