The MeadWestvaco Corporate Headquarters Construction Project - Going Green!
Presenter:
Theresa Schnabel
30 min Pre-Meeting:
Newcomer Orientation
Event Location:
Sheraton Park South Hotel, 9901 Midlothian Turnpike Richmond, VA 23235 The MeadWestvaco Corporate Headquarters Construction Project - Going Green! (1.5 PDU)
Question: How do you organize a project with many, constant moving parts involving literally hundreds of participants…and resolve competing priorities while making everyone successful…and make sure it complies to "Green" building standards?
Answer: One step at a time.
In this presentation, you'll understand the makings of "Going Green" in the future of construction. Find out how the MeadWestvaco (MWV) project team set key objectives at the start, broke down team assignments, created a plan, and setup the reporting/meeting structure. See how key measurements were identified, an issue tracking log put in place, and much more. And then the fun began! MWV’s new corporate headquarters is one of only three projects in the country to receive four Green Globes, the best possible rating, by the nonprofit Green Building Initiative. The high-efficiency construction techniques used in this project helped the building achieve a 21 percent drop in energy use compared with conventional construction.
See the results ... embrace the challenges!
