March 2011 Dinner Meeting
Leading Geographically Dispersed Teams (1.5 PDU)
An increasingly mobile workforce, improved technology, more choices on lifestyle and location have all led to the relatively new challenges of leading and managing across geographic boundaries. How do we get to know our staff members, establish working relationships, build and maintain trust, inspect work and lead by example when we are not located in the same city, state or country? The problems that arise can be daunting and the solutions are complicated by the fact that we can’t usually meet, shake hands and attack the issues together in the same room. In this presentation, we will discuss these challenges, consider options and create a template that will guide our leadership in this new and growing environment.
