Network of Project Management Professionals
PMI CVC is made up of project management professionals from many different organizations in Central Virginia and beyond. PMI CVC members have extensive project management expertise across numerous industries. Networking with others provides an opportunity to share best practices and ideas.

Monthly Meetings with Professional Project Management Speakers
CVC holds monthly dinner meetings alternating every other month between two locations for the convenience of our members. Our Southside meetings are at the Sheraton Park South on Midlothian on the third Wednesday of the month. Our WestEnd meetings are at the Marriott-Richmond West on Dominion Blvd. on the third Thursday of the month.

Each meeting offers pre-meeting networking opportunities, a business session, and a program on a topic related to project, portfolio or program management, or on the soft skills by which project managers excel.

Certification Workshops
PMI CVC holds two certification workshops annually — each Spring and each Fall. Individuals are encouraged to begin on the path to becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) by attending this valuable three-day workshop.

You do not have to be a PMI or CVC member to take the workshop or become certified. However, there are discounts for members taking the workshops and the certification tests that make the cost of membership a true value.

Professional Development Opportunities
Regular workshops and seminars offer project management professionals the opportunity to continue their development. A sampling of topics includes:
• Project Management Boot Camp
• Agile Project Management
• Scrum-Master Certification
• Advice for Successful Projects
• Managing Risk

Jobs Program
CVC has recently added a job posting board for employers/recruiters to reach PMI CVC members with opportunities for project and program management. This is available ONLY to CVC members who have logged into the website.

Volunteer Opportunities
Earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) while you network with other project management professionals and support the Chapter by volunteering for a committee or event. Volunteer opportunities offer a way to earn PDUs at no cost to you.

PMI CVC Web Site and Communications
The chapter web site offers you the latest news on upcoming events and members services.   Regular email communications are available for those who chose to be reminded.

So how do I join?

To be a member of the Central Virginia Chapter you must first be a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). All membership is handled through the PMI web-site at www.pmi.org. New individual membership dues are $129, and annual renewal is $119. Once you have joined PMI, be sure to add the chapter. The CVC chapter dues are only $25.
