Letter from the President
What makes an award winning chapter? You!!
PMI Central Virginia Chapter was recognized as the 2009 PMI® Component Award for Component of the Year (Chapter Category III) and 2009 PMI® Component Award for Volunteer Program of the Year at the PMI North American Leadership Institute Meeting in Kissimmee, Florida.
2009 PMI® Component Award for Component of the Year (Chapter Category III): “This award is given in recognition of the component for 2008 activities, initiative and commitment to promoting project management in your local community. This award honors and recognizes Chapter who has made the greatest contribution to the development and implementation of the ends of the Project Management Institute.” This is the second consecutive year for PMI CVC to earn this award.
2009 PMI® Component Award for Volunteer Program of the Year: “This award recognizes and honors the Central Virginia Chapter for demonstrating great creativity and inspiration in volunteer involvement and development. The chapter’s efforts resulted in attracting new volunteers and developed current volunteers into taking on leadership positions in the chapter. Your volunteer development programs have truly advanced the objectives and values of the Project Management Institute.”
Awarded in 2009, this recognition is based on the chapter’s activities in 2008. The award winning actions were made possible by YOU. Chapter members, YOU participated and attended the chapter-sponsored events, including our monthly chapter meetings, professional development seminars, PMP Certification Preparation workshops, and annual Elizabeth Murray Scholarship Golf Tournament. These events were made possible by the energetic efforts of YOU, over 120 of volunteers and the 2008 Board of Directors, under the leadership of Christina Morgan, 2008 Chapter President.
I am extremely proud to be associated with YOU. These awards are recognition of YOU, your professionalism and commitment to the Project Management community.
Thank YOU!
Debbie
