This presentation will provide participants with an overview of PMO design and implementation concepts. It will first consider PMO purpose and a competency continuum that describes five stages of a PMO structure—from a simple project office to an organizational center of excellence. Participants will gain insight to roles and responsibilities that may be found within a PMO; and they will examine 20 primary functions of a PMO, with discussion focused on applying PMO functionality to satisfy organizational needs. Finally, activities that are needed for successful PMO implementation will be highlighted. All of this will be considered relative to business contributions that are inherently achieved by an effective PMO
