Roles and Responsibilities

The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for promoting the benefits of the chapter to organizations located in Central Virginia for the purpose of obtaining corporate commitment in the form of membership, donations, advertisement, and sponsorship of memberships and chapter-related events.

The responsibilities of the VP of Marketing are as follows:

  • Promote PMI and PMI CVC by meeting with or presenting to corporate representatives and other professional organizations
  • Establish chapter marketing strategy program
  • Develop press releases and place advertisements in local newspapers, radio, television and other media of chapter meetings, events, workshops, seminars, etc.
  • Submit information on chapter activities to the PMI publications and partner organizations
  • Provide marketing support to other change officers, as needed, to advertise and promote chapter activities
  • Prepare annual and distribute annual survey to gain insight into member interests
  • Own, manage, and coordinate the use of the PMI CVC brand, including logos, templates, stationary, etc.
  • Host corporate / community outreach events

Important Qualifications or Skills

  • Out-going, and personable
  • Understand Chapter functions to enable promotion of chapter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work against a budget
  • Previous experience in a similar role helpful
